So there was a thunderstorm when I woke up at 8:30, it raged on for about an hour and a half, and then all of the sudden the sun came out, and now it's 71 degrees outside.

I spoke with the department chair on Wednesday, who is 80x more helpful than my advisor, and we discussed my fall 09 schedule.  She highly recommends that I take a couple fashion classes over the summer to get caught up, if not ahead, on my credits, so I don't have to work as hard during the year.  That sounds pretty damn good to me, as long as my friends come and visit me a lot. *nudge nudge*

I'll possibly take
-FASH319 Contemporary Fashion, which is sort of like an overview of fashion history
-FASH290 Textiles.
-Accessories, fun with bags and shoes and such
-Advanced Fashion Illustration with Steven Broadway, who teaches at Parsons New York, but occasionally graces us little VCU people with his presence.

Colin's parents bought a townhouse in Oregon Hill, which is on the other side of campus, right next to the Hollywood Cemetery with an amazing view of the James River.  The plan is to rent it out to college kids.  I am jealous.  He'll be living there next year, which might be good for me, because I spend every waking moment with him when he lives a block away.
He also informed me yesterday that he is now an ordained minister.  At first I freaked out, but apparently there's a website (that I must find) where you can sign up to be a secular minister.  It's pretty easy.  Now, if there is ever some kind of freak disaster, and two people of any religion or orientation, depending on the state I suppose, need to get married immediately, he can marry them.  Kind of like a ship captain.  I asked why, and he said he was avoiding writing a paper and stumbled apon it.  Oh, the places procrastination will get you.

Essay on Friedrich Nietzsche's The Gay Science due in an hour and a half, good thing I'm so studious right now.

It looks like a Belle Isle/ Carytown kind of weekend.  If I can manage to haul my ass out of bed before mid afternoon.

Aaand it's raining again.  Oh, nope, sun again.  Wow.
